Questions

What day are you in Cedar Park?
Wednesdays, every week, on Chris's Austin route.
Why pick you over another sharpening service?
We've sharpened for Texas kitchens since 2008, our prices are posted on this website instead of hidden behind a quote call, the same driver comes every week, and that same stop can restock your gloves, liners, foil and film. We cover Dallas, Fort Worth and Austin, so a restaurant group can use one company for every location.
How long does it take?
We sharpen on the truck at your stop and hand the knives straight back, so your line is only ever a knife short for a few minutes. More on turnaround.
How often should a restaurant sharpen its knives?
Line and prep knives every week. Serrated and bread knives every two to four weeks, slicer blades every one to three months. Here's the full schedule.
Do you sharpen scissors and cleavers?
Yes, on the same ticket as your knives. We don't do barber, salon or pet-grooming shears.
Do you sharpen serrated knives?
Yes, serrated knives ground on one side, which covers most bread knives. Not ones ground on both sides. How to tell which you have.
Will you sharpen an expensive Japanese knife?
Yes, at the angle it already has. More on Shun, Wüsthof and Global.
Is the shop in Flower Mound any use to me?
Not really, it's a three-hour drive. Cedar Park runs off our Austin route instead: we come to you.
