Cutco will sharpen its knives for free if you mail them in. That's a good deal, but it means shipping your knives off and waiting a few weeks. If you'd rather keep cooking, we sharpen Cutco knives here in DFW.
Your options
- Drop-off: $8 per knife at our shop, 2809 Justin Rd, Unit A/B, Flower Mound, TX 75028. In before noon, usually ready the same day.
- At-home visit: from $43 ($35 trip + $8 per knife). A sharpener comes to your home on our next route through your area.
Straight-edge and serrated Cutco knives
Cutco makes straight-edge knives (like the Petite Chef and the carving knife) and knives with its Double-D serrated edge (like the Trimmer and the table knives).
- Straight-edge Cutco knives: yes, $8 each.
- Serrated knives: we sharpen serrations ground on one side only. We don't sharpen serrations ground on both sides. Bring in a Double-D knife and we'll tell you on the spot whether we can sharpen it. If we can't, Cutco's free mail-in service is the way to go.
How to keep Cutco knives sharp longer
- Hand wash and dry them. Dishwashers dull edges and knock knives together.
- Cut on wood or plastic boards, never on plates or the counter.
- Store them in a block or on a magnetic strip, not loose in a drawer.
