Here's what knife sharpening costs with us in Dallas-Fort Worth, with no "call for a quote."
Home cooks

| At-home visit | $35 trip + $8 per knife |
| Example: 5 knives at home | $75 |

Tip: the trip fee is per visit, not per knife. Gather every knife in the house, or split a visit with a neighbor.
Restaurants
Restaurants pay per visit on a weekly route:
- 10 knives$45
- 15 knives$55
- 20 knives$65
- Each knife past 20+$3
- Fuel, per visit$5
New-customer route prices, per visit. Knife swap and multi-location groups are quoted.
Knife swap service, where we drop off sharp knives and take the dull ones, is quoted based on how many knives your line uses. Gloves, liners, foil and film can ride on the same visit and the same invoice.
What changes the price
- Repairs. A chipped edge or broken tip takes more grinding than a regular sharpening.
- Serrated knives. We sharpen serrations ground on one side. We don't do serrations ground on both sides.
- Very cheap knives. Sometimes a new knife costs less than fixing an old one. We'll tell you honestly.
Is sharpening worth it?
A good chef's knife costs $60 to $300 or more. Sharpening it for $8 a few times a year keeps it cutting like new for decades. A dull knife isn't worth having: get it sharpened or replace it.
